SWEET AS CANDY BABY HAT

CO 48 sts , slip a st marker onto the right needle to mark the
beginning of the round. Join to make a circle, being careful not to twist. Knit every round until the hat measures 4 1/2” from the cast on edge. Begin decreases for the top of the hat. Change to DPN as needed.

Round 1:* Knit 6 sts, K2tog*, (knit 2 together) all around
Round 2: * Knit 5 sts, K2tog *, all around
Round 3: Knit all sts
Round 4: * Knit 4 sts, K2tog*, all around
Round 5: Knit all sts
Round 6: *Knit 3 sts, K2tog *, all around
Round 7 & 8: Knit all sts
Round 9: * Knit 2, K2tog *, all around
Round 10: Knit all sts
Round 11: *Knit 1, K2tog*, all around
Round 12: Knit 2 together, all around.

Cut the yarn leaving a 6” tail and thread through remaining sts. Pull tightly to close, weave tail to inside.

Tassel: Cut 12 pieces of novelty yarn 6” long. Using another piece of yarn, tie these pieces together in the center. Insert them into the top of the hat and tie them together securely. Weave in the ends and you are done.
